During studies in our Master’s degree programme, you will make friends from all around the world. Our students come from USA, Europe, Africa and Asia and together they create a diverse international environment in the classrooms. Classes are organised in small groups which is highly beneficial for the students' progress.
Curriculum of the study programme covers knowledge and skills of a pharmacist in:
- preparation and production of drugs
- pharmacology and pharmacotherapy
- legal, economic and ethical principles of the pharmacist profession
- disposal of biologically active substances
6-month pharmacy internship is integral part of study. Students can combine undertaking internship in the Czech Republic and abroad. All students, regardless of their country of origin, can use numerous mobility programmes to spend semester or two at Masaryk University's partner institutions around the world.
The minimal requirement for study completion is 300 ECTS. After meeting this requirement, the students are allowed to take Final State Examination and defend their Diploma Thesis.
Master’s study programme Pharmacy is compliant with EU Directive 2005/36/ES. Master’s degree obtained at the Faculty of Pharmacy MU is therefore fully recognized in all EU member countries and most of the countries in the world.
Admission requirements 2025/2026
- successfully completed secondary education (i.e. secondary school, high school, college, etc.) resulting in a school-leaving examination, conferred with a final certificate/ diploma (e.g. A-level certificates, IB diploma, etc.).
All applicants must provide their secondary school results and the final certificate in the form of verified and authenticated copy in order to have their secondary education recognized in the Czech Republic. This must be done no later than the day of enrolment. Documents issued in languages other than Czech, Slovak, or English language must be officially translated!

Charge for verification of foreign education by Faculty is 900 CZK. Nostrification by Regional office costs 1000 CZK.

There are no English skills requirements in order to apply for studies. We believe that each candidate can evaluate his/her capability of studying in English himself/herself.

Entrance examination
Every applicant must take and successfully pass the entrance examination tests. No exceptions for transfer students or well performing high school students are granted. The entrance examination is in a written form and consists of Biology and Chemistry test, each of which is 40 questions. The maximum possible score is 80 points, one question is one point. There are no minus points. There is a time limit of 40 minutes per each test. The acceptance pass mark is 50% (40 points from both tests in total). The applicant is allowed to sit the entrance examination only once per admission year.
Entrance examinations will be provided in period January 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025. Exact entrance examination date will be assigned to applicant based on the country of origin and will be visible in e-application. Prior to the examinations, the applicant will receive instructions by email.
Applicant will be notified within 2 working days about the result.
Preparatory courses
To help prepare the applicants for the entrance exam, we are offering Online preparatory courses.
There are 2 separate courses: Chemistry and Biology, and based on their needs the applicants can either register for just one, or both.
It will enable them to revise and expand on their knowledge and thus help them successfully pass the entrance exams, the knowledge gained in these courses will also provide a good foundation that the students will use in their first year of studies.
The courses consist of lecture videos taught by lecturers who teach the corresponding subjects at our faculty and so you will have the chance to get to know your future professors.

Enrolment to studies 2024/2025
Enrolment to studies has to be done IN PERSON. Please bring certified copy of secondary school education with correct authentication stamp or nostrification paper, if you haven't sent it before. Enrolment to studies takes place in the international study office, building 45 (Pavilon farmacie, small building on the left side from the main door), Palackého tř. 1/1946 (campus of Veterinary University).

A compulsory meeting for newly admitted students is on 13 September from 2pm. There's also going to be a Tour of the faculty (11 September) as part of Orientation week, followed by practical tips on study and life in Brno presentation delivered by one of our current students.

Teaching in academic year 2024/2025 will begin on 16 September 2024.
Credit transfer
Faculty of Pharmacy offers students to apply for course recognition from previous study at university or Lifelong Institute. Application can be submitted only after acceptance to study!
Only courses related to field of pharmacy/natural science/medicine can be taken into consideration. Only courses passed not more than 5 years before the date of application can be recognized. Course recognition is not granted!
It's necessary to attach syllabus of course from previous university and grades (transcript of records) and explanation of grading system from the previous study. All materials must be in Czech or English language.
Conditions of course recognition is binded by Dean's Measure on Courses Recognition.
Scholarship for students from selected countries
Based on MU international marketing strategy, students from selected countries may apply for Newcomers' Scholarship providing financial aid during the first year of study. Only students enrolled in English-taught study programs with outstanding academic performance are entitled to receive the scholarship. The amount of financial support is 100 000 CZK (about 4 000 EUR).
Eligible countries are: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Georgia, Kosovo, Malaysia, Mexico, Montenegro, Peru, Philippines, Serbia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam
This scholarship is highly competitive. There is only about 20 scholarships offered annually.
Application is open from 30 November 2024 - 30 April 2025.

Compatriots Scholarship
The Compatriots‘ scholarship fund is designed to help and encourage students to study in their ancestors' country.
Masaryk University offers financial support of 100,000 CZK (circa 4,100 EUR) per year to students with Czech roots or with Czech ancestors newly enrolled in bachelor's and master's full-time programmes.
You can check the eligibility and financial conditions, and apply at the official MU Financial Aid website.
Application is open from 1 March 2024 - 31 August 2024.

Orientation week for new students
The Centre for International Cooperation and the ESN MUNI Brno (Erasmus Student Network) run an extensive Orientation Week prior to every semester. The Orientation Week will help you organise your administrative and study duties, experience a little bit of Czech language and culture, and meet and have fun with both Czech and international students at various events.
In Autumn 2024, the Orientation Week will be held from Sunday 8 September to Saturday 14 September.
Some activities are paid, some are for free, students can choose whether they book full package of events or join only unpaid activities. Participation is not compulsory, yet newly admitted students are very highly recommended to attend. During this week they will learn everything they need to know about their studies and also get a tour of the faculty and Brno.
What is compulsory for all the first-year students is in-person enrolment on Friday 13 September 2024 at the faculty.
Details will be sent to students by email in due time.
ESN MUNI Brno also provides service to foreign students in a form of "buddy". Such person will assist at the beginning after arrival to the Czech Republic, will help you to buy a SIM card, open a bank account, take you to the city and much more. If you're interested in having one, please fill form.

Cost of living
Brno offers a high quality of life for quite an affordable price. The cost of living in Brno is slightly lower compared to other EU countries. Masaryk University helps students to minimize the cost by providing accommodation in student Halls of Residence. Accommodation grant is also provided to students under specific conditions.
