In 2019 Ahmet Davut Aksu, a student of Bezmialem Vakif University in Istanbul, decided to come to Brno for his Erasmus internship. It was a vital experience for him so, he decided to apply for a doctoral study programme at the Faculty of Pharmacy, returned to Brno, got married and now he is an integral part of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
In his research, he focuses on two main projects. First is the Langendorff isolated heart system and testing the effects of novel synthesized beta-blockers against malignant tachyarrhythmias; in the second, he and his colleagues are analyzing the effect of non-selective addition of plasminogen on the rate of thrombolysis.
