Jozef Csöllei
Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Deputy Head of the Department of Chemical Drugs, Faculty of Pharmacy MU, guarantor of doctoral study programmes Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry. Professor Csöllei is also an evaluator for the National Accreditation Authority for Higher Education in the field of Pharmacy Education.
The scientific research activities of Jozef Csöllei focus on the synthesis of biologically active compounds and the study of the relationship between structure and biological activity of substances affecting the cardiovascular system and the study of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors.
Václav Suchý
Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy MU, former Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy (1994-2000) and Rector of the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno (2000-2006). In 2016, Professor Suchý received the Eduard Skarnitzl Medal for lifetime contribution to the development of pharmacy in the field of science, research and education, and in 2022 he received the Brno City Award in the field of medical science and pharmacy.
In his extensive scientific research activities, Václav Suchý focused on the isolation and identification of a number of plant substances. He was also involved in the study of tissue cultures of higher plants as systems of pharmaceutically important substances. To this day, he he supervises students' theses at the faculty, he is active in the courses Propaedeutics of Scientific Work and Pharmacognosy. He has always strived to incorporate the latest scientific and pedagogical trends into the educational process.
